The entrepreneurial management based on ethical values follows Univen Petróleo ever since the beginning of its activities. This made it to strive for a better integration with the neighboring community, as well as to the environment conservation.

Among other actions taken to the community benefit, the company points out:

• Hiring of employees who preferably live in the city of Itupeva, where it is located.

Today, among its 220 collaborators, 60% live in the city and in neighbor municipalities, such as Jundiaí, Cabreúva, Cajamar, Campinas. Louveira, Salto, Paulínia, Campo Limpo Paulista and Várzea Paulista;

• Construction and donation to the Municipality of a day nursery for 120 poor children in Santa Fé district, with a one million reais investment;
• Offer of professionalizing courses (SENAI – the Industry National Service) for destitute citizens who live in Mina and São Roque da Chave districts;
• Relationship program with the community by means of Semana Interna de Prevenção de Acidentes do Trabalho (Occupational Accidents Prevention Internal Week) – SIPAT and the company opening for monitored public visitation;
• Participation in Rede Integrada de Emergência (Emergency Integrated Network) – RINEM with the adjoining industries and the Fire Department, to increase the safety and the reaction efficiency in eventual accidents combat in the participating industries and in the community in general;
• Availability of its fire-fighting structure to Itupeva municipality;
• Participation in the municipal activities, such as the sponsorship of “Meu Primeiro Livro” (My First Book) program, for municipal schools;
• Participation in the Total Action Project;
• Donation of 110 street names identification plates for the districts of São Roque da Chave, Mina, Samambaia and São João;
• Donation of busses for Associação dos Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais (Exceptional Children’s Parents and Friends Association) - APAE in Itupeva;
• Participation in Programa Atuação Responsável (Responsible Care®) of Associação Brasileira de Indústria Química (Chemistry Industry Brazilian Association) – ABIQUIM;
• Implementation of the structure for Segurança Industrial e Meio Ambiente (Industrial and Environmental Safety) – SIMA, with a Labor Safety engineer and a biologist;

Plus:

• 2600 seedlings were planted in a permanent conservation area, within the company limits;
• Donation of 150 seedlings to Itupeva Municipality;
• Donation of recyclable material to the Itupeva Recycling Cooperative.
