Enlarging its activities, now aiming at the exploratory nature drilling in wells located in new frontiers of Brazilian Northeast, UNIVEN Petróleo, in agreement with RAL Engenharia, a company located in Minas Gerais State, is providing, since November 2010, geophysical data survey technical services in five blocks of Rio do Peixe Basin, Paraíba State, bought by the companies during the ninth round of Agência Nacional de Petróleo (Petroleum National Agency) – ANP auction, in 2007.

The drilling work is being accomplished by ANDL Serviços Geofísicos Ltda., with the cooperation of Flamoil Serviços Ltda, which is developing the quality control services and is processing the seismic data. The forecast is that the first results will be known by the end of the first half of 2011.

Rio do Peixe Basin is located on the far west region of Paraíba State, involving three sedimentary sub-basins (Brejo das Freiras, Sousa and Pombal), separated by the basement heights, in a 1250 square kilometer total area. Anuário Estatístico Brasileiro do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis (Petroleum, Natural Gas and Bio Fuels Brazilian Statistics Year Book) 2010, published by Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis (Petroleum, Natural Gas and Bio Fuels National Agency) – ANP, issued in September last year, which consolidates the industries figures from 2000 thru 2009, shows the Blocks in the exploration phase in 12/31/2009, showing the blocks that were bought by Univen Petróleo/RAL Engenharia during the ninth round of ANP auction. Today those blocks are in the geophysical studies phase.
